Volunteer Roles

Neighborhood Lead: (1 or a couple/neighborhood plan)

(Can be one or a couple people with a working knowledge of the strengths of your neighborhood, or a willingness to learn more!)

Description: The lead contact person for your neighborhood!

This role's responsibilities include:

Reaching out to neighborhood groups, businesses, and community members to advocate participation in Plan2025

Advocating participation from all members of your neighborhood, striving for diversity of all aspects
Being the liaison between the City of Huntington Planning and Zoning and your neighborhood
Time commitment is about 5 hours/month except for the month that your neighborhood is being highlighted, which would be more like 5 hours/week ???

Communications Lead:

Know how to tweet, update your facebook status, and get five new friends all while walking down the street drinking a cup of coffee on your iphone?? Then we have a volunteer position for you!

Description: This role will be assisting us in updating all of our various social media outlets to be current and responsive to the community.

Social media is only as good as the user and we all know how frustrating it is when information is old.
We hope to have so many things going on we will need several helpers who could either take on one or more of these social media outlets, communicating directly with the City of Huntington Planning and Zoning office to make sure all information is consistent and up-to-date.

Time Commitment: Will be flexible, but should be about 2 hours/week, spread out to about 15-20 minutes/day updating site information and responding.
