Cabell Huntington Hospital began treating patients in 1956 with the goal: "To provide the best care for all citizens of the Tri-State area." For nearly 45 years Cabell Huntington Hospital continues to be a leader in providing health care by growing and adjusting to the needs of the community. CHH has always been affiliated with the Marshall University's School of Medicine, providing clinical training of medical students, nurses and technicians for every department of the hospital.

Some of the adjustments and growth include-increasing bed capacity, and enlarging existing departments, adding new departments (such as: the Burn Intensive Care Unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.) The Burn Unit is the only unit of this type in the state. The Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units are 1 of 2 and 1 of 3, respectively, in our state. With advanced equipment and highly skilled staff, it is no wonder CHH has a high reputation for quality care and services. Visit the www.cabellhuntington.org web site for more information.

The university's School of Medicine has a new home beside of Cabell Huntington Hospital in the Marshall University Medical Center. The Center is houses the University Physicians Center, the Robert C. Byrd Center for Rural Health and the atrium, which connects these services with the hospital. Visit their web site for more information about their services.
