Fairfield
Residential areas in the Fairfield area continue the theme
with trees lining the streets and a brick-paved road thrown
in here and there. Community services, shopping and schools
are conveniently located in the Fairfield area. Varied churches,
businesses and offices are interspersed throughout the neighborhood.
The public schools available to the Fairfield area include:
Meadows Elementary School, Peyton Elementary School, Spring
Hill Elementary School and the new Huntington High School.
Medical offices and medical specialty centers govern a large
portion of the Fairfield area surrounding the Cabell Huntington
Hospital.
The Cabell Huntington
Hospital , at 1340 Hal Greer Boulevard, has the latest
in medical technology for their specialized intensive
care units for neonatal, pediatric , burn and
trauma care . During the summer of 1998, a new
addition to the hospital was completed, the Marshall University
Medical Center. The hospital has been affilitated with Marshall
University for many years, training excellent doctors, nurses
and technicians, to provide caring clinical treatment of each
patient. The six story addition to the hospital and its occupants,
conveniently puts the medical centers in close proximity of
the hospitals' and surrounding specialty centers' resources.
Attractions
and activities available in the area are: shopping, bowling,
community centers with their many activities, the Gallagher
Library, and the new upcoming "Kinetic Park," a business and
technology complex. It will be located on a tract of land
along Four Pole Creek.
