During his State of the… During his State of the City Address yesterday, Mayor Steve Williams discussed the fact that $2.3 million will be spent on paving projects this calendar year. Since 2013, the city has spent nearly $7.4 million on paving. With that funding, 35.7 miles of roads have been paved. Since the city’s sidewalk replacement program (property owners pay for materials, the city provides the labor at no cost) launched in 2016, there have been 109 new sidewalk projects totaling 1.35 miles. Property owners have invested $61,142 in the program. The mayor is proposing to allocate another $100,000 for the program in fiscal year 2020.
