Fire Station
Tours
To schedule a fire station
tour, please contact the Fire Chief’s Office at (304) 696-5950
extension 4024.
The Administrative Assistant will be
able to assist you in scheduling a tour of our Centennial Fire
Station located at 839 Seventh Avenue
as it more readily accommodates large groups.
Other fire stations are not available
for touring unless special permission is given to small groups.
ALL fire station tours must be
scheduled through the Fire Chief’s Office.
Fire station tours are free to everyone.
SCHOOLS AND CIVIC ORGANIZATIONS:
Please note we do impose a minimum age
limit of six years of age for fire station tours.
This is not an arbitrary number we have
set, but one psychological research has shown is an appropriate age
limit to set.
If your students are not this age, then
we will arrange for a fire truck to be sent to your location.
We apologize in advance that we will be
unable to send fire trucks outside city limits for this function.
Fire Trucks to Your Location
To schedule a fire truck to
be sent to your location, please contact the Fire Chief’s Office at
(304) 696-5950 extension 4024.
The Administrative Assistant will be
able to schedule a time for a fire truck to visit your location.
Please keep in mind, however, that the
fire truck may not be able to show up for your event or may be
required to leave before your event is over if it is called to an
emergency.
The City of Huntington Fire Department is unable to take a
fire truck completely out of service for such functions; it must
still respond to emergency calls when necessary.
Fire Safety House
City of Huntington Fire Department employees volunteer
their personal time to take the fire safety house to various events.
As this is a predominantly volunteer
effort, the Fire Chief’s Office is unable to schedule its appearance
at your location.
To schedule the fire safety house,
please contact the Bureau of Fire Prevention at (304) 696-5960
extension 3006.
