Huntington City Council unanimously approved Mayor Steve Williams' appointment of Cheryl Henderson to become the City of Huntington's next municipal court judge during its regular meeting Monday, Jan. 26.
Henderson has been an attorney for 35 years and is currently senior partner for the law firm of Henderson, Henderson & Staples. She handles cases in the fields of worker's compensation, personal injury, Social Security, real estate, bankruptcy and domestic relations.
She received her bachelor's degree from Fisk University and obtained her law degree from the West Virginia University College of Law.
Henderson replaces Scott Damron, who was appointed as the new city attorney earlier this month.
