Unpaid Municipal Fees: View the List and Learn About Amnesty

In Huntington, we believe in doing the right thing—showing up, paying what we owe, and looking out for each other.

Most residents pay their municipal fees on time, and that’s what allows us to keep delivering the services that matter—like sanitation, fire protection, and safe neighborhoods. But when fees go unpaid year after year, it puts more strain on the entire system—and on those who do their part.

That’s why, as part of our commitment to transparency and responsible government, we’ve published a list of accounts that are at least two quarters past due.

If your name appears, now may be a good time to resolve your account. The City of Huntington is offering its annual amnesty period through May 15, which waives penalties on delinquent municipal, and refuse fees—if you qualify. This limited time offer removes penalties but does not reduce the principal balance, or the lien interest and court cost.

To qualify:

  • The property must be owner-occupied.
  • You must not have received a penalty waiver in the last 10 years.
  • If liens exist, all lien interest and court costs must also be paid.
  • The property must not be under contract for sale during the amnesty period.

We want to help you resolve your past-due fees. To apply for amnesty, complete the Amnesty Application and email it to Lori Wiley at wileyl@huntingtonwv.gov. If you have questions, call 304-696-5540 ext. 2309.

If you believe your name has been added to this list in error, please contact the finance department at 304-696-5540 ext. 2399.
