HUNTINGTON – An expert panel will conduct a public hearing later this month to receive testimony from business owners, educational leaders, residents and internet providers about high-speed broadband in Huntington and surrounding areas and the challenges and opportunities that exist.

HUNTINGTON – Beginning Wednesday, Oct. 14, the City of Huntington will offer free personal protective equipment (PPE) to businesses with 100 or fewer employees. A dedicated phone line (304-696-5536) has been established and will be staffed from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday for businesses to place orders. Disposable masks, hand sanitizer, packages of disinfectant wipes, individual sanitizing wipes, gloves and protective eyewear are available.

HUNTINGTON – The second round of paving in Huntington this fall will begin in the near future.
Paving usually occurs in the spring and fall in Huntington. This past spring, however, more than $1 million in paving was delayed in the city due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Work on that paving list began in September, and officials with West Virginia Paving notified city officials recently that they were almost completed and would soon begin on the fall round of paving

HUNTINGTON – Mayor Steve Williams and Huntington City Council Chairman Mark Bates announced Thursday, Oct. 8, that all city employees will receive a $1,000 supplemental uniform and cleaning allowance for reimbursement of added expenses that employees have incurred during the COVID-19 pandemic.

HUNTINGTON – Two significant rounds of paving that will occur this fall in Huntington will begin next week.
